Emotional Freedom Techniques training with the Tapping Hotline team

The Tapping Hotline is a growing team of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), or tapping, practitioners. The team trains groups of individuals who struggle with feeling broken and hopeless due to extreme trauma. They help them achieve significant if not complete relief from post-traumatic stress with founder Wayne Tuttle’s proprietary, modified EFT technique, Flow State Techniques™, that simplifies trauma relief so they can gain control of their emotions and lives.

Flow State Techniques – Founder Wayne Tuttle’s unique approach to EFT

Flow State Techniques and the ADS is a process used in conjunction with EFT to create optimized life experiences and performance.

The Autonomic Directive System, or ADS, is a term I coined to identify the conditions of the whole person when they are functioning on auto-pilot. Taking the concept of automated human experience beyond traditional definitions of necessary body functions like breathing, the ADS addresses the coding or programming of the consciousness. And it is the conscious application of Flow State processes to the autonomic directive system that take life experience to the next level.

Wayne Tuttle introduces Flow State Techniques.

Wayne always enjoyed working with EFT because it provided quick and efficient emotional relief to his clients. After decades of study and several certifications in hypnosis, he developed an expanded understanding of the subconscious, beyond emotions, that contributed to the human state of suffering. By breaking down the components that created experience to begin with, he was able to identify the program codes, a.k.a the whole person experiential state, that worked on auto-pilot. This whole-being system that contributed to the default patterns of behavior and life experience he calls the Autonomic Directive System, or ADS.

The ADS takes the concept of automated human experience beyond traditional definitions of necessary body functions like breathing, and addresses the coding or programming behind default experience. These codes, or directives, are developed and conditioned over time through repetitious and/or poignant life experience. The ADS itself is neutral. The development of the ADS for the most part, is the mind and body’s way of conserving energy and being efficient. It’s helpful to note that the ADS is not judgmental. It does not differentiate between positive or negative or neutral. Much like a machine it converts experience into multi dimensional code or directives designed to protect, and to facilitate the performance of an organism. Consider the ADS simply as the program that aligns mind, body, Spirit and emotion into efficiency of experience .

Just like the ADS itself, many of our ADS processes are neutral. For most of us, getting ready for work or school in the morning is fairly standard and this process likely falls under the neutral category. Some ADS processes are the result of negative behavior and negative reinforcement like smoking cigarettes. An autonomic directive can also be developed through a traumatic, high level experience. (Wayne’s EFT process is excellent for addressing directives of this type.) Utilizing the ADS to move life and experience into a positive, conscious, optimized flow is the desire of many. This is where Flow State Techniques come in. Flow State is the conscious application of the ADS’s processes to take life experience to the next level.

Breaking Down the ADS

Our automated behaviors (routines, habits, addictions, compulsions, skillsets, and flow states) are fueled by default impulses, memories, and their resulting beliefs. All of our experiences result in memories and ultimately create our belief systems. Given that memories tend to fade, often the aspects of memory that create the ADS do not stay in conscious awareness. Nonetheless, those memories do create and maintain the default ADS processes of this autonomic human behavioral operating system. These default behaviors and reactions very readily leave us wondering why we think and act the way we do.

However, not all memories that contribute to the directives of an ADS will fade. In the case of post-traumatic stress, memories can remain vivid indefinitely. Because of their vividness, PTS is one of the least difficult behavior conditions to course correct using EFT .

Automated behaviors connected to forgotten memories must be approached differently. In this case, the combination of EFT and Flow State Techniques is one of the most valuable resources for creating desired change in one’s life - through understanding, growth and the release of suffering.

It’s truly life-changing.

“I was going through an incredibly difficult time after the loss of a loved one.  Wayne spent time with me doing EFT – talking and tapping – to help me through my grief.  It was soothing and gave me a much needed emotional release.  I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling with releasing the emotional pain they are suffering from.”

FOUNDER’S STORY

Wayne’s journey to EFT training

Wayne’s journey to becoming an EFT trainer began with the word “because.”

As a child full of curiosity about the world, Wayne would ask his mother, “Why is that?” and “OK, then why is that?” throughout the day. Getting answers to his questions lit him up, and more questions followed. His exasperated mother’s eventual response of “because!” to his ceaseless questions drove him to seek his answers elsewhere, toward books and other sources of information outside his childhood world.

Understanding mental health and the machinations of the mind have been a passion of Wayne’s early on his in life to this day. He finds the study of the brain and mental health fulfilling, exciting, and rewarding.

“At the age of 20 I remember a remarkable curiousity about why people acted the way they did,” says Wayne. “What was it that made them tick?” That fascinated me so I started reading everything I could get my hands on.”

His reading and study went on from there, leading him to certifications in EFT and reflexology (both of which draw from Traditional Chinese Medicine practice of working with energy meridians in the body), Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT), hypnotherapy, and Reiki.

Wayne’s study of and fascination with how the brain works led him to his life’s purpose of helping people heal from trauma. “As rewarding as the study has been, what’s most rewarding is when a client is relieved from discomfort,” says Wayne.

Wayne can remember a number of experiences in his youth that one would well consider traumatic. He remembers them as being very disturbing and even as a young child had a certainty that some day, as long as he didn’t forget them, they would be healed. They were numbered and every so often he would recount them.

As time had passed the traumatic experiences became more and more difficult to remember, and ultimately he forgot them. It wasn't until much later in life when the healing of such things became a paradigm that reshaped his reality.

“It's difficult to express in words just want a honor and thrill it is to be able to share this. Much thanks is due to the community of healers that have contributed to the advancement of energy healing techniques,” says Wayne.

The mission of the Tapping Hotline is to help as many people as possible gain control of their lives through group EFT training. To that end, founder Wayne Tuttle wants to train certified EFT practitioners in his Flow State Techniques method of EFT so that they can do what he does, bringing this powerful tool to even more trauma sufferers.
